That’s too bad Jim. Your creative home videos were the best. I really enjoyed your candid comments like “…this carpet feels like one grade above cardboard.”
Maybe you could do videos of flipper properties. Your marketing skills and blog audience in exchange for an exclusive listing.

Shadash we have been told that block will be all condos and selling in the 1.5 million range. Olde Carlsbad is certainly changing.

It’s going to be interesting to watch as Olde Carlsbad changes over the next couple of years.
I know of 3-4 former greenhouse properties that are being redeveloped. Not including the State street condos.
Maybe you could do videos of flipper properties. Your marketing skills and blog audience in exchange for an exclusive listing.
Not sexy enough.
HGTV has trained people to think glitz and glamour sells homes, regardless of the lies and deceit that come with it.

I think Jim on HDTV would be a runaway hit.
Just like Holmes on Homes, or any of the other I’m a better contractor than you shows currently in rotation.
Imagine the spit storm you could kick up with a national stage. 🙂

The videos you did with Tom Tarrant were quite entertaining. Especially the Painted Lady series. Your blog received lots of comments on all your Tom Tarrant postings. And you closed a couple of deals too.
Yes, but Tom didn’t hire me again, and most importantly, he didn’t/doesn’t use videos to sell his houses either. There isn’t an acceptance that video tours sell homes…..at least not yet.
There are several simple video-processing platforms for realtors, and YouTube has been around for a long time and couldn’t be easier to use. Yet how many realtor video tours do you see, besides the photos-sewn-together types? Virtually none.

Tom Tarrant has become a marketing machine. Just look at his website. He doesn’t need you anymore.
However, there are lots of flippers around town with zero marketing skills. Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to find a local clone of Nicole Curtis (Rehab Addict – HGTV). Entertaining and sexy.
Video tours sell homes. You are the pioneer of the industry. The video-making tools may be cheap and easy but it still takes production skills and lots of time to make an entertaining video home tour. The average realtor is too busy snapping quick pics with their camera phone and copying text from old listings.
I sure hope you find a way to continue making your brand of home tour videos. Your old blog audience is going thru video withdrawals.
Did you see that on State street just north of where you were that they tore down an entire block?
I’m assuming more condos.
So does ‘occasional’ mean at least once a week? I really miss your candid home-walkthru videos.
