Warm Thoughts

Peter Hong’s article stirred it up.

John Mattes from San Diego 6 News will have a brief spot on tonight’s news between 10:30 and 11:00pm.

He met me at the train-track house for a video!

There have been a few national inquiries as well, but the most heart-warming thoughts were the comments left – thank you!  Plus the emails sent by new friends, and old:

I watched all of your clips, and it was very interesting. Some was just down right funny.  From the videos and what you have done to help home buyers, I believe that you are a very honest agent working on the behalf of your buyers.  And this is what my company and myself is looking for in an agent.  My purpose to this email is to ask whether you would be willing to work with my investment company in listing the properties that they purchased at the auction….

Mr. Klinge,  I am currently being foreclosed on…….

You state on your website that guidelines prevent you from a mortgage 3-4 yrs after a short sale. It is actually 2 years.

Just think about it Jim, if you had bought an American car instead of foreign how many more Americans would be working to buy homes from you………just a thought

Jim,
Just saw the article in my morning paper and didn’t realize until I read it again @work why you looked so familiar…Glad to hear that you are doing so well in such a hectic time.  Take care and warm regards to you and the family.
Your cousin, Dennis

My suggestion for the movie version would be sort of a remake of “Repo Man,” but with repo houses instead of cars. Maybe you could have a cameo as a Dioretix evangelist.

The Hunter S. Thompson of real estate… hopefully you will forego the cigarette holder and pith helmet.

I didn’t know about it until I saw a comment on your blog. Pretty cool to be up on April Fools, huh ? When you buy the paper tomorrow, please don’t put 75 cents in the machine and take a whole bunch of them.  Peter Hong

Congratulations on your April 2nd feature “Realty Agent is keeping it real”  Our firm takes these features and mounts them to mahogany and gold wall plaques.  We do work for actor Blair Underwood, Merrill Lynch, and Whole Foods Market to name a few.   I am writing to see if there is interest in mounting a copy of this feature.

I can’t wait for the movie, oughta be good. I disagree with the writer on one point, your Mercedes is not massive.

Send a copy to Exene!

Hey Jim how are you…I convert pick up trucks into ice cream trucks. I could sure use more ice cream trucks in Vista…How about converting your 66′ Chevy step side…?

  1. Hey Jim how are you…I convert pick up trucks into ice cream trucks. I could sure use more ice cream trucks in Vista…How about converting your 66? Chevy step side…?

    Lol!

  2. I hear Jim the Realtor is being considered to play 007 in the next James Bond movie!

  3. Wow… could a reality TV show be next????

  4. Reality TV would be a step-down for Jim.

  5. Do it and get the show into production before some wanna-be get’s there first. You may never have to sell another home again with royalty agreements :)

  6. A friend of mine owns a very busy gun store with indoor range. He is currently in negotiations for a reality TV show with this production company: http://www.pilgrim-films.com/

The production company called my friend directly based on customer recommendations. Maybe we should tip off Pilgrim Films about JtR.

  7. I bet we see you on reality TV, being so close to the production companies in Los Angeles, but be careful, they edit it to their satisfaction to gain viewer ratings. Don’t sacrifice your integrity to be a pawn of reality TV, unless you get final approval of what is broadcasted.

  8. What has the recent nationwide publicity done to the number of hits on your blog? Has it spiked? Is it staying higher than normal? Good Job Jim…

  9. Jim,
As a former real estate agent in Lake Arrowhead and now an Internet Visibility Strategist, I so appreciate and respect your “telling it like it is” to your clients, as well as the public. In an era of business and financial deception, what I’ve come to call the “Enrichment Economy” demands the truth and transparency you demonstrate. It’s my hope that other business arenas will model this! I tip my hat to your enriching Internet Visibility Strategy!
    Regards,
    Jack Brooks

  10. Glad to read that the rest of Southern California is finally figuring out what we daily readers already knew. JtR is a sane voice of reason in a completely nuts market. In fact, I received an e-mail yesterday with a link to the LA Times article from a friend with “Is this the realtor you always talk about?” in the subject line. Now he’s on the JtR bandwagon too. With all this new publicity, I selfishly hope that you don’t get so busy that there isn’t time to blog/teach anymore. :-)

  11. To the party commenting about “if you’d buy an American car”…

Ever shop at Walmart? If so, your argument carries zero weight. If you like your cheap electronics, etc., welcome to the global economy. Or, we could pass another Smoot-Hawley tariff act to “protect American jobs”, and really drive the economy into the tank, just like that approach did in the 30’s.

The international economic genie has long been out of the bottle. The real answer is to make competitive products, not protectionism.

  12. Jim’s Reality show should be called “Million Dollar Foreclosure”.

  13. I think the realty TV name should be just “Jim the Realtor”. It’s catchy… similar to, as we know, “Joe the Plumber”.

  14. Hi Jim–So you’re in the big time at LA Times. Well-deserved. You are so right about price. A house in our neighborhood has been on the market for 2+ years–first year a little over a million, second year $939,000. No sale. I wonder whether the sellers mull the situation over and try to figure out just why it hasn’t sold. It is empty.

  15. Just think how much better the housing situation would be in California if Jim bought an American car. The implosion of Subprime, etc etc all Jim’s fault!

    “Ever shop at Walmart?….”

To Walmart’s credit they do have a decent supply of American made products. They make a bit of an effort to carry American, where as say Target makes none.

  16. Just don’t go all Hollywood on us.
