Carlsbadistan

The website www.carlsbadistan.com is our political watch-dog, and offers other local news and dry humor.  They recently inspired this knucklehead rant:

  1. My dad always says, “Just be glad you don’t get all the government you pay for.”

  2. Tunnel to China? Did we have a bad day Jim?

Btw… if there were a Tunnel to China, it would take 42 minutes to get there:

  3. Jim Klinge for Mayor. You heard it here first.

  4. Great link Game Agent! I enjoyed the video. Amazing!

  5. Jim, what is your opinion of Sky Ranch Eaglepointe (700 – 800′s) and Stoneridge(mid to high 600′s) homes and the community overall? These are Lennar’s higher end homes in Santee. Do you think pricing is in line with what they have to offer, view, and living in Santee? It looks like they are quickly working on the 52, which would make a commute to Sorrento Valley pretty quick (for East County) and it is supposed to be completed next year. One hard thing to see, with such a nice community on the hill, is the apartment complexes as you drive up on Graves Avenue. Great views though and the area is quite and appears to be safe. In addition, there is a lot of store/restaurants on Mission Gorge Rd. What are your thoughts?

  6. I’ll let Jim answer, but my 2 cents: Sky Ranch is my favorite development in East County if you have the right view.

On quiet: it’ may not be as quiet as you think. An increasing number of small jets/corporate aircraft are landing at Gillespie Field. We’re not talking Lindberg: a small jet once an hour or two and a lot of small prop planes, but if you’re very sensitive to it you should hang out at the top of the hill for an hour mid-afternoon to get a sense of the peak traffic. It’s more of an issue on the west side of the hill than the east: to my mind I prefer the west because I’d like to look at the planes landing and taking off in the valley below, but your mileage may vary.

  7. lgs is the EXPERT on Santee, and those two Lennar developments – and I don’t use that word casually. I have been to both with him, and agree that they are good values, but their agent is anti-realtor in a nasty way.

lgs refused to buy there after the agent was a major-league jerk to me.

  8. Easy guys. Its just a suburban city. In any other state, it would just be a town or an “area”.

  9. Jim, please don’t drive and run the video cam.

I like the rants but frankly your distraction while driving is apparent in the video.

  10. Was the agent with EaglePoint? or Stoneridge? You don’t have to say any names, and how long ago was this?

  11. Jim, great videos…but a quick safety question…are you driving, focusing/zooming your camera, and speaking all at the same time? Dude…be safe…no point doing something risky just so you can show us exactly where the tunnel to China will start ;-)

  12. Geez, if a half-mile separation between the sewer line and the desalinization intake is not enough, what does that say about the condition of Carlsbad beaches?
