Lack of a sewer hookup has always been a disqualifier for me in a home.
GeneK | March 2nd, 2009 at 5:04 pm[Eddie, in the driveway, is draining the RV's toilet]
shadash | March 2nd, 2009 at 5:13 pmEddie: Shitter was full.
Clark: Ah, yeah. You checked our shitters, honey?
Ellen: Clark, please. He doesn’t know any better.
Clark: He oughta know it’s illegal. That’s a storm sewer. If it fills with gas, I pity the person who lights a match within ten yards of it.
Government mortgage giant Freddie Mac (FRE) said Chief Executive David
Moffett will resign no later than March 13, and the company is working with the Federal Housing Finance Agency to appoint his successor.
Freddie’s shares were recently down 2.4% at 41 cents. The stock is off 44% so far this year and 98% in the last year. The company, which has been under government conservatorship since September after it and sister company Fannie Mae (FNM) ran up billions of dollars in losses and saw their portfolios suffer amid rising foreclosures and exposure to subprime mortgages, also said it continues to believe the FHFA will submit a request for another $30 billion to $35 billion from the Treasury Department’s Troubled Asset Relief Program.
Moffett told Freddie’s board that he wants to return to a role in the financial-services sector. Moffett took over as Freddie’s CEO in September amid the federal government’s takeover plan
Jim the Realtor | March 2nd, 2009 at 5:17 pmWhen there’s a big hole in the septic, doesn’t that mean that toxic stuff is oozing through their lawn?
EE-uuuuuuw! :-0
shoppingaround | March 2nd, 2009 at 6:46 pmWe had one in Mt. Helix, never once had a problem with it–pumped it 3 times in 5 years at a cost of $200 per time ($600). It saved us at least $100 per month in sewer fees ($6,000). A new tank would probably cost $10K and last 15 years or so- Financially, you probably come out way ahead, and an appraiser (at least in Mt. Helix) adds zero in value for being connected to the city sewer. Kicker– everything down stream from the leach-lines grows really green without much extra water!
Local Boy | March 2nd, 2009 at 6:50 pmWow, Local Boy, Mt Helix is expensive!
The average monthly water AND sewer AND trash bill in Carlsbad is $91.

The Good Life | March 2nd, 2009 at 7:11 pmWe are in Carlsbad now and we pay our Sewer along with our taxes (Olivenhain Water District)and you’re right it is only $400/yr. Anyhow, I was kind of comparing it to San Diego. In San Diego you are billed for sewer along with your water bill, and it is based on how much water you use–in La Mesa we were on 3/4 acre landscaped lot with tons of vegitation and our water bill alone was nearly $200/mo (I don’t miss that)–$100/mo savings in that situation, or RSF like the video, is a fairly accurate estimation.
Local Boy | March 2nd, 2009 at 9:54 pmSo he’ll pump it but he won’t swim in it? That’s a pretty fine line if you ask me. For a million bucks, I’m guessing he’d likely cross that line. Think back to 1993 when a young, hot Demi Moore slept with that old and shriveled Robert Redford for a million bucks. In comparison, good old Jerry would be getting off easy.
