Optimistic, Aren’t They?
email received today:
Brand Launch – Changing to Bank of America
The Countrywide Transition Team currently anticipates the target date for the change in brand to be April 27, 2009. This milestone is when Countrywide business partners will begin representing the Bank of America brand and start using Bank of America branded documents.
We will be making the necessary name changes to our internally prepared documents and ask that your office please be ready to make the changes where necessary to any documents prepared on our behalf.
Please note that until the brand changes, Countrywide and Bank of America will continue to be used separately in the market place. No re-branding of the company name can occur prior to April 27, 2009.
I definitely think re-branding is in their future – and April 27th is a long ways off.
What will it be then? Bank of Ben? Obama Financial?

Since Chitibank is already taken, I’m going with BadBank of America.
Smithers | February 20th, 2009 at 4:11 pmI was just on their REO website, and no kidding, I found this there:
“The Bank of America Preferred Real Estate Broker Network® offers enlightenment and a place of sanctuary for confused seekers of real estate.”
Jim the Realtor | February 20th, 2009 at 5:07 pmOfficially the new name is “Bank of America Home Loans.”

W.C. Varones | February 20th, 2009 at 6:17 pmB of A will never drop the B of A name!
It will be called Bank of America until such time as the United States of America ceases to exist. Or until B of A gets caught in some huge fraud scheme, whichever comes first.
The Good Life | February 20th, 2009 at 6:26 pmI bank there, and I think Bank of A@@holes at the Top would be an appropriate name.
John Doxey | February 20th, 2009 at 6:58 pmBofA screwed my FICO by 20 pts by giving me a credit card I didn’t want and the closing the account. I have one extra closed account on my report. Argggg.
3clicks from da Beach | February 20th, 2009 at 9:32 pmBTW, I’m still over 700, but that is not much nowadays.
3clicks from da Beach | February 20th, 2009 at 9:49 pmI think we should just give poor people money and be thankful that Mr. Obama is president.
We voted for change and we are going to get it. Mr. Obama will get us out of this mess. That is why we elected him to make useful decisions and to not waste tax payers money.
I cannot imagine this man will do anything to save people who made reckless decisions. This country was built on capitalism and I believe this party will allow companies to fail and honor the ways of our founding fathers.
I believe Mr. Obama is a nice guy and he really wants to do nice things.
Ginger | February 20th, 2009 at 10:12 pm“… enlightenment and a place of sanctuary for confused seekers of real estate.”
So they are going to advise their potential clients NOT to try to catch falling knives…. or are they going to light candles, burn incense and hold yoga classes?
I’m so glad someone has finally stepped up to provide enlightenment and sanctuary for us. Although, I have to wonder what this service costs.
Damnit, Jim…why didn’t YOU think of doing this?!
HappyRenter | February 20th, 2009 at 10:28 pmA crippled hunchback pounding on the doors of a BofA office crying “sanctuary, sanctuary!”
Thanks for the imagery Jim.
