Ice Cream Truck Seen in Carlsbad
We’ve seen an invasion of ice cream trucks around Oceanside – now there in Carlsbad too. You see them around all the foreclosures – are they a precursor to more problems in C-bad?
P.S. This is a blantant cross-promotion with Calculated Risk!
P.S.S. I mentioned in this video that Vista doesn’t allow ice cream trucks anymore, after one of them was found to have maggots in their ice cream (told to me by an ice cream truck driver).

Reminds me why I never got ice cream from the ice cream trucks… my mom’s story was that the drivers probably pee’d outside somewhere on their routes and didn’t have a way to wash their hand.
Remember the bakery trucks with the drawers of bread and donuts?

LC Jim | January 26th, 2009 at 1:59 pmI know my geography and thats the first cul de sac on the left on Via Conquistador eh? I think I can see the Rancho Carrillo wall in the background looking towards the peacocks! I wish they had ice cream delivery when I lived there 5 years ago….no I take that back! Those trucks pack lower resale values! Is that a foreclosure now at the end there Jim, the 2 story?
doughboy | January 26th, 2009 at 2:50 pmMaggots in ice cream? Who woulda thunk it?
ice weasel | January 26th, 2009 at 3:17 pmDo you have to pay extra for the maggots?

Jim the Realtor | January 26th, 2009 at 5:52 pmI’m a biologist, so trust me: the only way you get maggots in ice cream is if you are TRYING.
Blissful Ignoramus | January 26th, 2009 at 6:57 pmMaybe it was pork ice cream.
Dwip | January 26th, 2009 at 7:32 pmPork ice cream? Sounds like a hot seller.

It’s too bad, i’m an ice cream truck vendor and we pride ourselves in giving our customers the best expierence. Where we live in AZ and we see these operators who don’t care and run trucks that should be confiscated and burned. Its a good busness. It makes it hard to break these bad stigmas of what the public think of us.
gus | February 10th, 2009 at 11:01 amI am an ice cream truck driver too. My profits are SWEET! My mark up is about 500%. It is a good gig. Who cares if I drive an ice cream truck. When I get home I park the truck then get in my BMW 740 and make my deposits for the day. The only thing that sucks is that Obama is going to ding me with the new tax in 2010. I make well over 250 K/yr. Even better b/c of this global warming propaganda! Kids think it is hotter now then ever before. Thanks Gore!
