  1. Very cool. I wonder how long it took them to set that up.

  2. De ‘slinky’ boss! De slinky! I’d have used more explosives personally.

  3. Two slinky posts in one day! The slinky action down the stairs was how I remember it as a kid.

  4. On the day his successor was sworn in as San Diego’s newest city attorney, Michael Aguirre began the next chapter of his legal career.

The erstwhile city attorney opened the law firm Aguirre, Morris & Severson on Monday, joining with the former heads of the criminal and civil divisions of the city attorney’s office.

The new firm will focus on general litigation for municipalities and other agencies, with the exception of the city of San Diego. It also will pursue credit derivatives-related litigation.

“We’re hoping to be a very dynamic, action-oriented and result-oriented firm,” Aguirre said. “San Diego’s a wonderful place to practice law. It’s a great platform to practice law. I hope we’ll be able to do some good and bring business to San Diego.”

The other partners in the firm are Chris Morris, who led the city’s criminal division under Aguirre, and Maria Severson, who headed the civil division.

Aguirre said the firm will be issuing a “significant report” soon on the national banking crisis.

He’s currently working with a group of citizens interested in national regulatory reform.

Aguirre said he’s looking forward to his newest challenge. “Like Winston Churchill said, you move from setback to setback without loss of enthusiasm,” Aguirre said. “With me, I’m looking forward to solving problems involving the national banking crisis.”

  5. Fascinating, but who could have all that in their house–had to be days/weeks to set up and calibrate! Thank goodness it wasn’t MY husband!

    ;-)

And duct-tape on the walls stair railings–yikes!

  6. I bet those guys could have come up with a more effective method of addressing the current financial mess. If nothing else, it would have been interesting to see what they did to move nonpaying borrowers out of their houses.

  7. Holy Rube Goldberg! I hadn’t seen that one before, thanks for sharing.
